The Way Home For Wolf Teaching Resources TPT

However the wolf pup makes friends with other animals who help him find his way. In the end he does reunite with his family, so it is happy and all is well. A very cute rhyming story of a little wolf who wants to be independent, but ends up requiring help from unexpected friends. Told in a nice rhyming manner with a sweet little lesson and very intriguing illustrations. It's a fun read-aloud with good opportunities for varying voices, vocabulary at multiple levels, and just a twinge of both sadness and danger. I'm not sure it has the "staying power" of many other Rachel Bright books I've read, but perhaps my expectations were a bit too high.

The Way Home For Wolf is a feelgood story with a powerful message. Interactive resources you can assign in your digital classroom from TPT. There is plenty of cuteness in the book too, to compliment and balance the striking illustrations. N loves little Wilf, who is adorable with his big blue eyes and bushy tale. In this activity, your KS1 class will read the statements about the book and decide whether they are true or false.

At first everything seems dramatic, but then something happens and I was so happy for our tiny wolf. He is getting a nice lesson that it isn’t only about him and that he should also trust in others. This book has the important messaging that everyone needs friends. And sometimes we all need a helping hand from those around us.

I ordered this book for my son Cedar during his Scholastic book fair. Cedar loves wolves so I thought he would enjoy it. We both appreciated the beautiful illustrations on every page. It is so engaging and the art is so expressive, it feels like watching a movie! The highlight is the illustrations featuring Aurora Borealis. Another bonus is the story features other animals like a narwhal, seal and arctic fox!

We love the brilliant storyline and beautiful illustrations. So we were really excited to receive The Way Home For Wolf and find out if it was as good as one of Little Mister H’s favourite books. And we weren’t disappointed because The Way Home For Wolf is a gorgeous children’s picture book. I absolutely adore books by Rachel Bright and Jim Field and this new story is no exception. As with all their books, this is a story of friendship, courage and the importance of learning and growth. The rhyming language and beautiful illustrations are wonderful as always.

The ending was predictable, but still I was very happy. I read this one in Dutch, but will write my review in English. To ask other readers questions aboutThe Way Home For Wolf, please sign up. Her work aims to capture a free way of thinking - one which makes you feel anything is possible, a feeling all too easily lost with the end of childhood. When we’re all grown-up, sometimes we just need a little nudge to remember it’s been there all along. She explores the lovliness of words and the magic of pictures, revelling in a world of jam-eating miniature bears and other made-up animals.

Not today though, but someday I can see him lead a pack of his own. This picturebook is incredibly wholesome and exquisitely written. The language used to describe the setting itself paints a beautiful picture in the readers head.

He liked to try everything himself and was also very confident. When the pack had to move because their cave was suddenly inhabited by bears, Wilf was eager to take the lead. Wilf, the littlest wolf is sure he can lead the pack, but when he lingers behind on his short legs, he becomes lost. It takes the help of some unlikely friends to help him find his way home.

A to Z mysteries: The White Wolf comprehension Questions

Overall, a very sweet story that I will take into the classroom. The morals of accepting help and the importance of teamwork are classics for kids’ books but I enjoyed how this story told it. It would make a great story for any topic linked to those who help us.

Luckily, lots of other animals help him out so he discovers that he isn't truly alone after all. I wasn’t always charmed with the tiny wolf, I just don’t like characters with a too big of an ego, I prefer my characters awesome but humble. Still, I did think he was adorable and very cute. Plus, if he has learned anything from this lesson, I am sure he will become a great leader of a pack one day.

Her written work includes children’s stories and poems, clever advertising copy and lots of other stuff besides. Rachel is a writer of words, drawer of pictures and champion of silver linings. She exhibits widely, writes tirelessly and frequently creates slightly unhinged characters. Field’s illustrated Wilf is super appealing – a perfect accompaniment to Bright charming story. After so many warnings of stranger-danger, it is a sweet reminder that strangers also have the power to save us and guide us home.
